Space Engineering selects 360 Scheduling
Field Service Management Limited, reseller of the Metrix Service Management, Mobile Data and 360 Scheduling solutions, announced that Space Engineering Services Limited has selected the Metrix product suite and 360 Scheduling solution to automate their UK service processes. The solution will be implemented at Space Engineering Services’ HQ in Bristol.
Space Engineering Services deliver nationwide refrigeration, mechanical and electrical services to a range of business customers. From design and manufacture, to installation and service and maintenance, Space Engineering Services commit to an excellence in understanding, delivering and managing customer’s needs.
Joe Jewell, the project manager for Space Engineering Services explains the challenges the organisation faced: “For some time it had been evident that the current service management software had not been performing to the level required by the business. This sparked off a detailed investigation into the configuration, use and suitability of the system which provided the basis for the requirements specification of the new system. The refrigeration service industry is a notoriously complex beast, with each client contract holding its own terms and conditions. It was essential that even the most quirky conditions could be addressed in the software. We needed a system advanced enough to fully automate processes like call logging and report generation, whilst being flexible enough to handle different service disciplines and contracts with ‘out of the box’ configuration, while seamlessly communicating the information with the finance and other software packages.”
After sifting through countless responses to an invitation to tender, Space Engineering shortlisted two companies for detailed demonstrations, and live site visits, based on the ability to fulfil the requirements laid out. This included FSM, UK vendors for Metrix and 360. Joe Jewell led the selection process, “during demonstrations, FSM were able to show how the software could manage different jobs throughout their life, including scheduling jobs through the 360 Dynamic Scheduling Engine, proving that the software could cope with the complex requirements dictated by the refrigeration industry. This was backed up with site visits to an equally complex customer of FSM’s, leaving them as the clear choice for Space Engineering going forward.”
